Brittany’s Year with AEDC!
It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since Brittany joined our AEDC team! We are incredibly grateful for all of her hard work and dedication and can’t wait to see what the next year brings.
Check out the full Q & A below to learn more about what Brittany does for AEDC and how she spends her time outside the office.
What made you want to work for AEDC?
I wanted to work for AEDC because this job provided me an opportunity to feel that I left work each day knowing I was helping to make a difference supporting someone in working towards their dream goal. I love knowing I’m supporting the entrepreneurs in their passions and helping to guide them towards success.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
I don’t think I have one specific favorite thing I like about my job. Between the team I work with, the diversity in entrepreneurs I meet and interact with, and learning something new every day I come to work…. I can’t pick just one!
Tell us a little bit about your background, family life, interests, hobbies, etc.
I was born in Florida, but raised primarily in PA. Though my initial goal was to major in elementary education, my path led me to finding a passion in management being promoted to a General Manager position at only 22. I spent 14 years in the restaurant industry before finally choosing to put myself and my family first and find a more gratifying career. My husband and I have just recently bought a house in Allentown; so, my latest interests have to do with DIY home projects and gardening. We are both very family oriented so along with a new house, our dogs, and visiting our young niece and nephews we keep busy!
How have you grown professionally since joining AEDC?
I worked for so long in an industry that taught me, or so I felt, to solve problems in a fight or flight mode with quick decision making to get the job done or keep the customer happy. Working on the AEDC team has helped me grow professionally by teaching me to slow down in my decision making and look at every angle and perspective before coming to a final conclusion.
